Here in the UK, we just love dogs. They’re always there for you, will greet you like they haven’t seen you for years, even though you have just nipped to the shops and are a great anxiety and stress relief! A PDSA report shows that there were 8.9 million pet dogs here in the UK in 2018. Now we get to see what our nations favourite dog breed is, with a special by ITV.
About Britain’s Top 100 Dogs
The TV special will be presented by wildlife lover Ben Fogle and Radio presenter Sara Cox as they countdown through a chart of 100 dog breeds to find our favourite.
The nation has already been voting for their favourite 100 breeds with a poll. This initial poll has determined which breed of dog has made it into the top ten – but the final ranking will be decided by the public/viewers of the show. In no particular order the top ten breeds you can vote for are:
- Springer Spaniel
- Cocker Spaniel
- German Shepherd
- Staffordshire Bull Terrier
- Golden Retriever
- Border Collie
- Mixed Breed
(Image below does not correspond to the order of list of dog breeds above, for more information on the breeds check the bottom of the article)
Along with the top 100 countdown, the show will explore all things dogs, including interesting facts, key characteristics and personalities of our furry friends. We will also get to see famous faces with their dogs as they share stories about their four-legged friends.
