Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is on the way, but who will we see on the dance floor?

As we’ve come to expect at this time of year, the line-up for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is being released bit by bit. So far this week we’ve had the first batch of contestants being announced, some of them being a complete surprise and some confirming rumours mentioned beforehand.

It’s become Strictly tradition to release the names of the contestants slowly in the run-up to the launch show and this year’s been no different. Here at UK air dates we’ll be doing our best to keep you up to date with any new announcements and the full line-up once released.

This is who’s been confirmed so far:

1) Katie Piper

First to be announced for Strictly Come Dancing 2018 is broadcaster, charity activist and all-round inspiration Katie Piper. First rising to fame after the documentary, Katie: My Beautiful Face, aired on Channel 4 – it depict’s her experience at the hands of an acid attacker and Katie’s recovery afterwards.

2) Faye Tozer

Known by most as one fifth as pop group Steps, Faye is more than likely to already have a good dancing background (think Alexandra Burke from last year), but who she gets paired with will make all the difference.

3) Danny John-Jules

British actor and star of Red Dwarf Danny John-Jules is no stranger to performing in front of the camera, he’s also excited to be donning some more extravagant outfits for Strictly Come Dancing once again.

4) Joe Sugg

YouTube star and brother of Zoella (an even bigger YouTube star) is the fourth celeb to be announced following rumours circulating for a while.

5) Vick Hope

Capital Breakfast Vick Hope certainly knows her music, but will she able to dance along? Only time will tell.

6) Graeme Swann

Cricketing Legend Graeme Swann isn’t a huge surprise, becoming the third former cricketer to perform in the show over since its inception. In the 2005 series, Darren Gough went on to lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitter ball so anything could happen here.

7) Dr Ranj Singh

This Morning’s resident medical specialist Dr Ranj Singh is the seventh name to be announced.

8) Stacey Dooley

The eighth celebrity contestant is English TV presenter and journalist Stacey Dooley, known for her work with BBC Three documentaries concerning child labour and woman’s rights in developing countries.

9) Ashley Roberts

Another ex-pop star here in Ashley Roberts, the former Pussycat Doll also found fame starring in Keith Lemon’s Coming in America and alongside Ant & Dec in their Saturday Night Takeaway.

10) Kate Silverton

It’s been a long running tradition for Strictly to feature news presenters on the show and this year seems no different. Kate says she’s excited to be swapping the newsroom for the ballroom.

11) Seann Walsh

Comedian Seann Walsh is the eleventh name announced, he may not be the most confident contestant however after seeing his own dancing from his mate’s phone on nights out- hopefully he wont have two left feet when he’s fully sober.

12) Lee Ryan

The third ex-popstar to be announced in the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 series is Lee Ryan. Known for his work in Blue, we’re wondering if he’ll do as well a fellow ex-boybander Aston Merrygold did last year.

13) Lauren Stedman

Rio 2016 Paralympic athlete Lauren won a silver medal in the para-triathlon. She’s explained that she won’t be using a prosthetic in the show (unlike Johnny Peacock) as she fears it might fly off.

14) Susannah Constantine

One half of the Trinny & Susannah fashion duo, the English born journalist says she’s “sick with nerves and jangling with excitement”

15) Charles Venn

45 year old Eastenders and Casualty actor Charles Venn is the final contestant to be announced for Strictly Come Dancing 2018

That’s it for the line up this year, now we just have to wait patiently for the show to begin!
