Top 5 TV Series to Watch in February 2019

So far this year we have had some great new TV show releases such as Sex Education, Titans and Cleaning Up. February looks to be keeping the trend with some exciting new series – get these TV series and dates in your diary!

Without further ado, here are the top five new series coming out in February, sorted by the most recent air date!

Russian Doll

Russian Doll is a new Netflix Original series, which is produced by and stars Natasha Lyonne, who you will know as Nicky Nichols from Orange is the New Black. The series also stars other cast members from Orange is the New Black.

The Netflix series follows Nadia (Natasha Lyonne), who ends up dying over and over again at a party which is thrown for her. She must figure out what the hell is going on, why she keeps coming back to the party when she dies and how she can escape the loop she is in, a similar plot to the Netflix Original film Naked.

Russian Doll will be airing on Netflix globally on Friday 1st February 2019.

New Amsterdam

New Amsterdam

New Amsterdam is a new American medical series which came out in the US September 2018 and is now finally making its way to UK screens!

The series follows Dr. Max Goodwin (played by Ryan Eggold, The Blacklist) in his new job as medical director of an American public hospital, which is in a neglected state and managed very poorly. With the right foundations, the hospital will be able to properly help it’s patients again.

If you love medial dramas, this is definitely one to watch and once more it’s a new series so you don’t have hundreds of episodes to catch up on!

New Amsterdam will air on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 8th February 2019.


Lorena Documentary

This one is for the documentary lovers, if you like Making A Murderer and other killer documentaries, then this will be right up your street. It’s also produced by Jordan Peele, the direct of the film Get Out.

The documentary Lorena is a Prime Original based on the the famous American story of Lorena Bobbit, a woman who was sexually assaulted by her husband, retaliating by cutting off his penis while he slept. The series explores the media and coverage of the event and sexual assault.

Lorena airs on Amazon Prime on the Friday 15th February 2019.

The Umbrella Academy

Attention comic and superhero lovers, you’re going to love this! The Umbrella Academy is a new Netflix Original series based on the comic book of the same name by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way.

The Umbrella Academy follows a dysfunctional family of superheroes who work together to solve their father’s mysterious death, all while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.

The Umbrella Academy airs Friday 15th February 2019 on Netflix.


Flack TV Show Image

Flack is a new comedy drama starring Anna Paquin, who you will recognise as Suki from the hit vampire series Trueblood, or as Rogue from X-Men. We’re very happy to see Anna back on our screens!

The series follows Robyn, an American PR executive living in London, who is an expert at her job, keeping all her clients lives appearing perfect. While she is extremely good at making others lives look great she is a complete wreck and self-saboteur when it comes to her own.

Flack will be available to watch on the channel W on Thursday 21st February.
