One Day At A Time, based on Norman Lear’s 1975-1984 comedy of the same name, follows a three generation Cuban-American family all living under the same roof. A divorced ex-military mother, her teenage daughter and son and also her old school mother. The sitcom tackles a number of issues including mental illness, immigration, homophobia, racism and sexism; all of which the family have to deal with while living in modern day America.
