A Very English Scandal is a British TV miniseries, based on John Preston’s book of the same name. It shows a dramatised version of the Jeremy Thorpe sacndal between 1976 and 1979, whose homosexual relationships at the time were highly frowned upon. The series first premiered on BBC One on 20th May, 2018 and was later picked up by Amazon Prime Video.
It stars Hugh Grant as Jeremy Thorpe and Ben Whishaw as Norman Scott.The series was very well received upon released, although there’s no sign of a second season coming any time soon.
