The Sopranos is an American crime drama TV series created by David Chase and produced by HBO. Following the life of mafia crime boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and the difficulties present when trying to balance family life whilst managing a high-powered criminal organisation. He explores many of the problems he faces, along with his ongoing health issues, during his therapy sessions with Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco). Originally premiering in 1997, the series came to its conclusion in June, 2007. Widely regarded as one of the best TV series of all time, The Sopranos won multiple awards during its run time.
