Critical Role started streaming back in March 2015, through the cast’s first campaign. Campaign One which ran for 115 episodes, and ended in October 2017. The cast started playing Campaign Two in January 2018. And then had to pause things in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
The original storyline centered on a group of heroes known as Vox Machina — Players include Keyleth (half-elf druid, Marisha Ray), Scanlan Shorthalt (gnome bard, Sam Riegel), Taliesin Jaffe, Pike Trickfoot (gnome cleric, Ashley Johnson) Percival “Percy” Fredrickstein Von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III (human gunslinger), Grog Strongjaw (goliath barbarian, Travis Willingham), Vex’ahlia (half-elf ranger, Laura Bailey), and Vax’ildan (half-elf rogue, Liam O’Brien). This badass gang of heroes battles the forces of evil while learning how to work as a team.
The cast own the intellectual property of the show and also lends its name to the studio owned by themselves Critical Role Productions.
