Glee is an American musical comedy-drama that focuses on the fictitious William McKinley High School glee club, the New Directions. Headed up by Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), the club is a place where the ambitious students can find strength, acceptance and their voice.
While competing on the show choir competition circuit, the clubs disparate members deal with social issues, especially regarding sexuality, race, relationships, and teamwork. As the students find themselves, they also enjoy a respite from the harsh realities of high school and general life. Along the way, they face constant opposition from cheer-leading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), who tries to sabotage the group at every turn.
