Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is an American sitcom TV series, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. It stars Ellie Kemper (The Office) as Kimmy, the main title character, a girl who’s rescued from a doomsday cult and finds herself trying to survive in New York. Kimmy is determined to net let her past define her, despite the fact she knows absolutely nothing about modern life. The show originally premiered in 2015 on NBC in America, subsequently finding a home for itself on Netflix in the UK.
