Breaking Bad fans rejoice, this is potentially the best news you will hear all year. It’s been eleven years since Breaking Bad first aired, and now nearly six years after the show’s finale, Netflix has revealed that a Breaking Bad Movie will be hitting our TV screens on October 11th 2019 – how exciting! The movie entitled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is written and directed by the show’s creator Vince Gilligan, so it should be in typical Breaking Bad style, which is great news for all of us fans out there.
The movie will star around everyone’s favourite Breaking Bad character Jesse Pinkman played by Aaron Paul who (spoiler alert) was last seen driving off after being freed from captivity by his partner in crime Walter White (Bryan Cranston). With not too much information given on the plot for El Camino, all Netflix has revealed so far is “in the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future,” it said.
With the series finishing on such a bombshell, and after five brilliant seasons, fans may be left thinking what more could possibly come out of Breaking Bad, and they weren’t the only ones. Aaron Paul says
“El Camino was a chapter of Bad that I didn’t realise that I wanted. And now that I have it, I’m so happy that it’s there,”
“I couldn’t speak for a good 30, 60 seconds I was just lost in my thoughts. As the guy who played the guy, I was so happy that Vince wanted to take me on this journey.”
With only just over a month till the release date you may not have time to re-watch the whole series, but not to worry, Aaron Paul suggests you re-watch this key scene from Breaking Bad in preparation for El Camino. The episode ‘One Minute’ from season three shows Jess Pinkman calling out Walter White for ruining his life in an emotional scene.
Cats out of the bag…and the bag is in the river. Here’s a moment from Breaking Bad to slowly prepare you all for what’s to come. #BreakingBad #Netflix #Elcomino ⚗️💎💵💰 https://t.co/q3VdCCLxZe

In the teaser trailer, you will see Skinny Pete played by Charles Baker who is Jess Pinkman’s friend and former colleague being interview on Jesse’s whereabouts. There is no news yet as to whether Walter White played by Bryan Cranston will be making a reappearance in El Camino, so for now it is just a waiting game!
This isn’t the first time that we have seen a spin-off from Breaking Bad, back in 2015, Better Call Saul was released on Netflix. The series followed Saul Goodman played by Bob Odenkirk who is a criminal lawyer with criminal being the optimal word. Saul was a bit of a con artist and played the role of Jesse and Walter’s lawyer in the Breaking Bad series. Better Call Saul was a great success with over 4 seasons, and a fifth in the pipeline. Let’s hope that El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, follows suit and it too is a roaring success!
