After two very successful seasons, Netflix has revealed that Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father will be returning to our TV screens on September 6th, 2019 (yippee). The comedy pair will head out on their third road trip across the world to not only explore what these places have to offer but also their relationship with one another, which makes great entertainment for us guys watching! Now before we go into detail on season 3, we’ll recap the first 2 seasons, which follows our favourite father and son duo that travel around the world.
Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father: Season 1
Let’s have a quick recap of the first season. The first season was released on Netflix back in 2017 and is made up of six episodes. This season follows the hilarious pair as they travel a popular gap year route through South East Asia, visiting Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Used to a fair bit of luxury Jack’s father Michael Whitehall is thrown into the backpacker’s lifestyle, which, fair to say he’s not too impressed with, and inevitably falls back to his old ways, much to Jacks disappointment. This show not only delves into the culture of these countries, highlights some real beautiful landscapes in South East Asia, but also explore the relationship between Jack and his Dad, which fair to say is well and truly comical!
The first season was a roaring success with Michael Whitehall making a name for himself in the world of showbiz, and of course let’s not forget little baby Winston Whitehall who now has an Instagram following of our 89,000 – crazy right!
Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father: Season 2
After the success of season 1, season 2 of Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father was promptly released on Netflix the following year in 2018, this time made up of 5 episodes. Season 2 sees Jack and Michael Whitehall travel Eastern Europe to Germany, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, and Turkey. This once in a lifetime trip is planned more to Michael’s taste, although Jack makes his own form of entertainment along the way. Again it’s another great insight into these countries, but the best thing about the show has to be Jacks slapstick comedy and Michael’s utter cynicism towards Jacks behaviour, for let says a good 90% of the time.
Jack Whitehall: Travels with my Father: Season 3
With season 3 due to be released in September 2019, we are very excited! This time the dynamic duo will be heading to the big US of A, and we can’t wait to see what shenanigans the pair get up to this time. With Jack Whitehall living out in Los Angeles permanently he’ll be pretty used to the American lifestyle but what we can’t wait to see is Michael’s reaction to the good old America, and what precarious situations Jack will put his Father in. Just as a guess, we think Michael is going to absolutely hate it.
We are big fans of this show, and can’t wait to see more of the duo’s hilarious banter, as they add yet another road trip to their travels around the world.
